Strictly necessary (always on)

• Sign-in session — stored in your browser so you stay signed in to your journal. Cleared when you sign out.
• Security and abuse prevention — short-lived server-side records, including a one-way hash of your IP address, used to rate limit public wall posts.
• Your cookie choice — a small local record so we don't ask again.

These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off.

Optional — product engagement

If you allow it, we record which parts of Today's Hope you open or tap so we can learn which encouragement helps most. It is first-party only, never includes the words you write, and is never shared or sold. Decline it and the site works exactly the same.

Optional — remembering small preferences

Things like dismissing the newsletter invitation are stored locally on your device so we don't nag you. These never leave your browser.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser or extension sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we automatically apply the "essential only" choice for you and do not show the banner as an opt-in. You can still change your mind below.
